Product description: Double ring infiltrometer is a simple device used to measure the rate of water infiltration into soil. Water infiltration rate is the water flows into a unit cross section of soil per unit time. It can be calculated by the measuring results and Darcy's law. When vertical water flows to the edge, the outer ring of the infiltrometer will play a role in isolation. The water in the inner ring flows vertically, thus the measurement only occurs in the inner ring. Press these two rings into the soil a few centimeters deep by shock absorbing hammer. Because the inner and outer rings are filled with water, the water actually infiltrates vertically from the inner ring into the soil. To achieve a good result, the following factors that may affect the measurement should be taken into account: surface vegetation, soil density, soil temperature and soil layers.
